INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please review the minimum requirements to run AutoCAD Electrical 2007 prior to installing the software. The minimum requirements can be found by following the System Requirements link from the AutoCAD Electrical 2007 product installation dialog on the Install tab of the AutoCAD Electrical 2007 installation media browser.
You must have administrative privileges to install AutoCAD Electrical 2007 on Windows 2000, XP Home, or XP Professional.
Network Installation
A Deployment Wizard is available to allow easy installation of AutoCAD Electrical for a network or multi-seat standalone installation. This makes it easier to install the package over a network or to share files. Follow the Quick Start to Network Administration link on the Network Deployment link of the first installation dialog for more information.
If you would like to include Vault 5 as part of your AutoCAD Electrical 2007 deployment, please refer to the Autodesk Vault 5 network deployment addendum from the Network Deployment page of the initial installer.
If the Deployment Wizard is taking a long time to create a deployment and Norton Anti-virus is installed, disabling the "File System Real-time Protection" option should improve the deployment time.
Installing additional symbol libraries after the initial install of the program
You can select additional libraries to copy to your system (beyond the default library based upon your Drawing Standards selection) during the installation of AutoCAD Electrical 2007. If you decline to do this during the installation but later decide you do want to add one or more additional libraries (and associated demo project for each), you can use the Change option on the Add or Remove Programs dialog box.
Installing Vault 5
If you plan on installing Vault 5, please refer to the Autodesk Vault 5 readme on the Documentation tab of the first installation dialog before installation.
Note for Beta users
While every attempt has been made to ensure that files saved in the BETA release can be opened and used in the final release version of AutoCAD Electrical 2007, we cannot guarantee the integrity of files saved in the BETA release.
The BETA builds must be uninstalled prior to installing the release. When the uninstall is complete, any customized files in the following folders should be backed up, if needed, and the folders should be removed:
